Tractor licenses are divided into six categories: BUT, IN, FROM, D, E and F. Each category gives the right to drive certain types of tractors and self-propelled machines. for example, Category A includes four subcategories:

  • A1 – motorized SUVs with speeds up to 50 km/h, such as swamp walkers, all-terrain vehicles and motor sleighs;
  • A2 – motor transport self-propelled off-road vehicles up to 9 passenger seats weighing up to 3,5 tons, such as mining dump trucks and special-purpose all-terrain vehicles;
  • A3 – motor vehicle of 9 pieces weighing more than 3,5 tons, not intended for movement on public highways, such as dump trucks and special purpose all-terrain vehicles;
  • A4 – technique before 8 passenger seats, such as road trains, platform and rotation buses.

Category B gives the right to drive a tractor with a motor no more than 25,7 kW or 35 hp, which can be tracked or wheeled. Category C applies to tractors with an engine over 25,7 kW or 35 hp, as well as for trailers and semi-trailers for them. Category D allows you to drive buses and trolleybuses with more passenger seats 16. Category E complements categories C and D and gives the right to drive road trains with trailers or semi-trailers. Category F is intended for control of military equipment.

Age restrictions for obtaining rights

To buy a tractor license You must reach a certain age depending on the category. So, for category A the minimum age is 16 years old, for category B – 18 years old, for categories C and D – 20 years old, for category E – 21 year, and for category F – 18 years subject to military service or special training.

Health restrictions for obtaining a license

  • diseases of the cardiovascular system, such as coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, arrhythmias, varicose veins and others;
  • respiratory system diseases, such as chronic bronchitis, asthma, tuberculosis and others;
  • diseases of the digestive system, such as peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, chronic gastritis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis and others;
  • endocrine system diseases, such as diabetes, thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism and others;
  • diseases of the blood and hematopoietic organs, such as anemia, leukemia, hemophilia and others;
  • kidney and urinary tract diseases, such as chronic pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, nephroptosis and others;
  • diseases of the musculoskeletal system, such as osteochondrosis, arthritis, arthrosis, scoliosis and others;
  • limb movement disorders, malunion fractures, absence of one limb or body part;
  • deformation of the foot or hand;
  • shortening of one of the lower limbs by more than 6 centimeters;
  • hemorrhoids.

If a person has one of the listed diseases or conditions in severity or stage of development, which may affect traffic safety or lead to an emergency on or off the road, then he is prohibited from driving the tractor. In this case, he will not receive a medical certificate or will be issued a certificate with restrictions on time or driving conditions.
